Morning Pointe Senior Living recently named Dwayne Butler as its new director of dining operations, according to a news release.
Butler joined the Morning Pointe team in July 2022 as food services director at Morning Pointe of Hixson Assisted Living and Memory Care. In his new role, Butler oversees dining services across the company's 37 campuses. He will train new food service delivery workers and support the dietary teams with menus, budgeting and acquiring fresh local ingredients, among other responsibilities.
Butler has worked in food services for the past three decades, starting as a teenager working at a Huddle House and working his way up. He worked in the restaurant industry at J. Alexander's and Outback Steakhouse, as well as at the Bluff View Art District in downtown Chattanooga, according to the release. Butler has worked for several senior living and senior care companies in the Chattanooga area.
Bennett and Porter named partners for HHM CPA firm
HHM Certified Public Accountants announced in a news release the promotion of two partners in its Chattanooga and Cleveland offices. Blake Bennett and Weston Porter join the firm's leadership team, bringing the total number of partners to 23.

Bennett joined HHM in 2011 after graduating from Lee University and works in the Chattanooga office. He reviews tax returns and studies tax law changes to provide tax consulting for complex business organizations and their owners. Bennett is a member of the Young Professionals Association of Chattanooga, Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants, American Society of Certified Public Accountants, and Chattanooga Tax Practitioners, according to the release.

He provides audit services to governmental, non-profit, construction, and manufacturing clients, in addition to local and regional trade contractor unions, the release stated.
In addition to his audit responsibilities, Porter is involved in HHM's tax practice. His tax experience includes solving complex tax issues and preparing state and federal tax documents for nonprofit, construction, real estate, manufacturing and individual clients. He serves as the treasurer of the Chattanooga Autism Center and is a member of Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Miller & Martin promotes lawyers Marquardt and Simmons
The Chattanooga-based law firm of Miller & Martin PLLC announced the election and promotion of attorneys Elizabeth Marquardt and Scott Simmons to membership in the law firm effective January 2023.

Marquardt is a litigator practicing in the firm's Atlanta office. She graduated with a law degree from Emory University and a bachelor's degree in English and political science from the University of Florida. She is licensed in Georgia and Tennessee, according to the release. Before joining Miller & Martin in 2018, she practiced at an insurance coverage boutique firm in Atlanta. She also previously served as an intern for the Georgia Attorney General in the Government Counsel Division.

Campbell heads academic affairs at Cleveland State Community College
Corey Campbell has joined Cleveland State Community College as the new vice president for academic affairs.
Contributed Photo by Cleveland State/ Corey Campbell.According to a news release, Dr. Campbell was the vice president for student engagement and retention at Jefferson Community College in Watertown, New York, for three years before coming to Cleveland State. Campbell replaces Dr. Barsha Pickell who stepped down to return to classroom teaching.
Cleveland State President Ty Stone said Campbell "has a strong track record of success and was overwhelmingly selected by the campus community.
"His experience in academics as well as student affairs brings a unique perspective," Stone said.
With a master's degree in sport management, Campbell began his career in education as an instructor and coordinator for the executive fitness program at Northwood University in Florida, the release stated. He also worked as assistant director of student affairs at Nova Southeastern University and director of sports medicine and fitness technology at Keiser University in Florida.
Thrive Regional Partnership announces four new trustees
Thrive Regional Partnership has welcomed four new trustees to help oversee the regional planning agency in the 16-county Chattanooga region.
The new trustees include Evann Freeman, director of government relations at Electric Power Board (EPB); Terry Hart, president and CEO of the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport Authority; Jason Mock, president and CEO of the Greater Dalton Chamber of Commerce; and Debra Stone, senior logistics cost analyst at McKee Foods.
Thrive Regional Partnership is a nonprofit organization focused on bringing stakeholders together across 16 counties in Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee to ensure the protection of natural treasures and resources while promoting responsible stewardship of transportation and infrastructure growth to ensure communities are able to prosper, the release stated.
Winters, Clayton, Huggins join CHI Medical Group
CHI Memorial Medical Group announced David Winters, Charity Clayton and Sandra Huggins have joined CHI Memorial Primary Care Associates – Atrium.

He completed an internship at Memorial Osteopathic Hospital in York, Pa. He has more than 40 years' experience caring for patients in Southeast Tennessee.
