One person is dead after a rollover crash on Interstate 24 near the split, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.
Police responded to I-24 eastbound after a report of a crash late Monday and found a victim trapped in a vehicle.
The victim, whose name has not been publicly released, was transported to a hospital and later died.
The driver of another vehicle was traveling on I-24 and missed their exit to Interstate 75 southbound and stopped on the right shoulder to change directions, the release said.
While attempting to go onto I-75 southbound, the driver pulled into the path of the victim, causing the vehicle that the victim was driving to lose control and roll over, police said.
An investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed.
