Suspect wanted after domestic-related stabbing, standoff with Chattanooga police Sunday


A domestic stabbing call Sunday afternoon turned into a standoff involving a barricaded individual, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

Officers responded to a residence on North Howell Avenue on Sunday after a report of unknown trouble, and once investigators arrived, they were advised of a domestic stabbing but were unable to locate the suspect, according to the release.

Shortly afterwards, officers were alerted that the stabbing suspect, a 38-year-old man, was hiding in a residence in the 800 block of Eddings Street.

As of Sunday evening, Chattanooga police were at the Eddings Street location attempting to access the suspect, whom they believed to be barricaded inside a home, the release stated.

An investigation is ongoing.
