Good Deed: Golf tournament benefits Children’s Hospital

The 7th annual Children's Classic Golf Tournament, held at Chattanooga Golf and Country Club, will pump a record $284,000 into Children's Hospital at Erlanger, with the proceeds going to support the Critical Care Transport program for pediatric patients. The Erlanger Foundation organizes the popular golf tournament.

Every flight of the tournament was sold out, according to a news release.

Members of the winning team were Brian Anderson, Blaze Ellis, Jeb Hart and Lee Maclellan. Winners of the longest drive competition were Scott Parrish, Jeremy Roberts, Karen Fauer, Jay Vandeventer, Brian Anderson and Jeb Hart, and the closest-to-the-pin competition winners were Todd Jeffries, Nick Carden, Tyler Duncan and Will Miller.

Less Lee, tournament chair and Erlanger Foundation board chair, said in the news release, "The Erlanger Foundation's 2023 Children's Classic, an annual tournament, was a fun day and resounding success. Everyone from the volunteers to the spectators to the hole watchers and our wonderful board members made the event one for the books."

Money raised will help with the acquisition of two pediatric critical care transport vehicles to complement the six air ambulances already in operation when circumstances prevent air transport, he said.
