3 dead in shooting, including 1 by suicide, in Chattanooga

A 29-year-old man shot and killed a 25-year-old woman and her 6-year-old daughter and then shot himself to death, according to a preliminary review by the Chattanooga Police Department, which responded to a call on North Moore Road on Friday night.

According to a news release from Sgt. Victor Miller, officers arrived at the 100 block of the street after receiving a call of multiple deaths. When officers got there, they met friends and family who said they found three people dead inside the residence, the news release said.

Officers located the three people, two adults and one child, unresponsive inside the house.

Hamilton County emergency medical services officials pronounced all three dead on the scene, according to the release.

The three were living together at the same residence, according to the news release. Police are working to determine the relationships among the three. The preliminary review indicated a domestic violence incident with two homicides and a suicide, the release said.

Chattanooga police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call the tip line at 423-643-5100.
