A high-profile site in downtown Chattanooga that for many years has held restaurant space is on the market.

The property from 612-618 Georgia Ave., across from the Hamilton County Courthouse, most recently had held the Six18 Restaurant, which was opened in late 2021.

The asking price is $2 million for the site that not only offers built-out restaurant space but additional basement storage.

Before that, the property formerly housed Jefferson’s for many years. The Brass Register, another restaurant, also had operated at the building which was constructed in 1962.

The 10,601-square-foot structure is adjacent to the corporate headquarters of voluntary insurance provider Unum.

The property offers a blank canvas for an owner and user, according to commercial real estate broker Scott Israel of Colliers.

Also on the block is the Hardwick Hogshead Apartments, which was built in 1912.
