The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after one person died in a motorcycle crash Saturday on Hixson Pike.
According to a news release, at 7:40 a.m., a resident who lives near the 7400 block of Hixson Pike called emergency services to report a vehicle crash. Witnesses were on their front porch when they noticed “a blinking light in the woods,” the release said.

Deputies and emergency services responded to the scene to locate a deceased rider identified as Clifford Barbee. An investigation revealed that the motorcycle had left the road in the northbound lane at the Thrasher Pike intersection.
