A Tyner Middle Academy student was arrested and charged with sexual battery Friday, according to a news release from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
On Friday, a Tyner Middle Academy faculty member told the school’s resource deputy that students had reported they were victims of sexual battery by another student, the news release said.
The school resource deputy and Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office investigators began an investigation into the allegations and discovered eight victims, all under the age of 13. No students had sustained any injuries, according to the release.
One juvenile suspect was arrested and taken to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center. The suspect has been charged with seven counts of aggravated sexual battery.
