It’s August, and that is somehow surprising, though we should have remembered the ending of summer last year. And here comes school for many of your homes.

Judy Jones wrote, “I have long sought, to no avail, the recipe for The Loft’s port cheese salad dressing. Maybe someone in your readership has this recipe or has an idea where I might find it.
“I still miss the ambience not to be found anywhere else in the city. A loss.”
