Two people died following a shooting at a home west of Dayton, Tennessee, according to authorities in Rhea County.

The two people, one dead and one near death, found inside a home on Lauren Lane on Tuesday have not been identified, but the Rhea County Sheriff’s Office said there is no danger to the public, according to a news release.

“Upon entering the premises, they found a deceased female with an apparent gunshot wound, along with a male suffering from a gunshot wound,” the release said. “Emergency medical services were immediately summoned to the scene, and the male victim was transported to meet air medical for urgent medical care. The male subject was deceased upon arrival to the helipad.”
