Inclement weather created havoc for a large part of Northwest Georgia on Friday, leading to postponements for three area boys’ soccer teams hosting games in the second round of the GHSA state playoffs.

All three are set to return to the field Monday afternoon.

In Class AA, No. 8 seed Ringgold takes on No. 9 Shaw at 3. In AAA, No. 8 Northwest Whitfield faces No. 9 Jenkins of Savannah at 4, while No. 7 Calhoun’s home game with No. 10 Johnson of Gainesville will resume at 4:30 with the visitors leading 1-0 in the first half.

Two second-round playoff games involving area boys’ teams were completed Friday, with fifth-seeded Coahulla Creek advancing to the Class AA quarterfinals with a 7-1 win over No. 21 Sumter County, and No. 23 Dalton Academy getting a second-half goal off a free kick to win 1-0 at No. 7 Bremen in Class A Division I

Diego Fraire had two goals for Coahulla Creek, which also received a goal and two assists from Anderson Rivera, a goal and an assist from Cruz Barcenas, and single goals from Omar Mendiola, Fabricio Pacheco and Johan Reyes. The Colts will travel Tuesday to No. 4 seed Columbus.
