EDITOR’S NOTE: Since 2002, the Times Free Press has highlighted the top 12 college football prospects among Chattanooga-area seniors with its preseason Dynamite Dozen. The countdown of this year’s list continues with No. 4.

Silverdale Baptist Academy head coach Mike Connor didn’t take long when searching for the word to best describe one of the most impactful two-way linemen in Tennessee prep football.

At 6-foot-7 and 300 pounds, Luke Burger is the “anchor” the Seahawks can always count on, whether on offense or defense, to keep them going.

A three-star prospect who has committed to Vanderbilt — the Nashville program where “Anchor down!” is the rallying cry — Burger has the size and presence to match the description, with 247Sports ranking him as the No. 4 offensive tackle in Tennessee and the No. 41 player overall in the current recruiting cycle.

With a wingspan that stretches 6-10 1/2 from fingertip to fingertip, Burger has imposed his will on opponents and is a centerpiece for a program that has reached the TSSAA Division II-AA state quarterfinals the past two seasons.
