The Tennessee Volunteers on Monday night picked up their second edge rusher in three days, landing Jordan Norman via the NCAA transfer portal.

Norman racked up 28 tackles, eight tackles for loss and six sacks as a redshirt sophomore this season at Tulane. He entered the portal on Dec. 2—, one day after tallying four tackles during the Green Wave’s 4—-—0 loss at Ole Miss in the first round of the College Football Playoff.

The 6-foot-4, 249-pounder from the Birmingham suburb of Hoover has two seasons of eligibility remaining and visited Knoxville this past weekend.

“They took me to the stadium, and it was one of a kind,” Norman told 247Sports.com.

Norman also visited Colorado, Florida and South Carolina before committing to the Vols.

After a senior season at Hoover High School in which he amassed 68 tackles and —0 sacks, Norman was a three-star prospect who began his college journey at South Alabama. He competed in three games for the Jaguars during the 2023 season, redshirting that year, and then had 25 tackles, four tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks in 2024, when he played in all —3 games and made nine starts.

Edge rusher became Tennessee’s biggest concern recently when Jordan Ross and Caleb Herring entered the transfer portal and with this season’s starter, Joshua Josephs, out of eligibility. The Vols picked up Penn State freshman Chaz Coleman on Saturday, with Coleman having been ranked among the top five players nationally in the portal.

Norman told 247Sports.com that he didn’t get to meet new Tennessee edge rushers coach Andrew Jackson, but that he did get to visit with veteran Vols defensive line coach Rodney Garner.

“Coach G — I mean — that’s a legend right there,” Norman said. “With 30-plus years of coaching and the amount of guys he’s put in the league, you only dream of being coached by a guy like that. He knows what he’s doing.”

The Vols last Wednesday hosted former Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt, but CBS reported Monday night that Leavitt has signed with LSU.

Another player Tennessee hosted this past weekend, former Missouri quarterback Beau Pribula, committed Monday night to Virginia.
