Chattanooga police have made a second arrest in connection with a homicide last week at a Manor Road address.
Police Tuesday charged Leah Duncan, 29, with felony murder, especially aggravated robbery and tampering with evidence, according to a press release. Duncan is in custody at the Hamilton County Jail.
Authorities on July 16 responded to a call about a dead man at a residence in the 3900 block of Manor Road, the block where Park Terrace Apartments are located. In the residence, police found a deceased 53-year-old man with an injury to the back of his head, according to authorities.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
Nathaniel Colvin, 37, was later arrested and charged with first-degree murder, especially aggravated robbery and tampering with evidence, according to a previous Police Department press release. Colvin is being held without bond at the county jail.
Detectives reviewed surveillance footage, interviewed witnesses and identified Colvin as a suspect, according to an affidavit.
Colvin told police during an interview, after he had been read his right to remain silent and right to counsel, that he was not at the incident location. Later, he told police that he went to the location with a gun but said that someone else had shot the victim and gave him back the gun, according to the affidavit.
Police reviewed Colvin’s cell phone records and found a text message that Colvin sent, in which he claimed to have “did the killing.”
Duncan’s bond has been set at $500,000. Her next court appearance is scheduled for July 29 before Judge Lila Statom.
Police are continuing to investigate and ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525.
