The janitor of Daisy Elementary School who was arrested and charged with sexual exploitation of a minor allegedly used an AI program to alter a photo of students and a staff member to expose genitalia.
X.AI, Elon Musk’s AI company that created Grok, sent a cyber tip with one image that was associated with the account of Zackary Nelson to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which was then sent to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, according to an affidavit in the case.
The image included in the tip showed two male students at the school and a female school employee, and had been altered so that none of them were wearing pants, according to the affidavit.
Hamilton County detectives obtained a search warrant for the account associated with Nelson and discovered about 3,750 photos of adults and children that were in the process of being altered. Over 100 of those photos had been fully altered to show children performing sex acts and in various states of nudity, the affidavit said.
Nelson, 28, was released from the Hamilton County Jail on a $60,000 bond after he was arrested at work Tuesday. His first court appearance is Monday morning before Hamilton County General Sessions Judge Tori Smith, according to online court records.
