A man who fled from a Hamilton County courtroom Tuesday morning is facing charges of evading arrest and criminal impersonation, in addition to the six charges he was already facing.

Dillon Barrett, 26, appeared in Chancellor Pamela Fleenor’s courtroom and allegedly claimed to be someone else and appearing for his brother, according to a press release from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

Barrett then allegedly answered a phone call and fled the Courts Building on Georgia Avenue, heading toward the parking garage at the corner of Chestnut and Seventh streets. Officers pursued Barrett on foot and arrested him shortly after, the press release said.

Barrett was facing six pending charges before Tuesday’s arrest, including two counts of stalking, two counts of coercing a witness and two counts of harassment, according to court records. Tuesday’s pursuit resulted in additional charges of evading arrest and criminal impersonation.
