Two people were found dead in Sequatchie County on Tuesday in an apparent murder-suicide.
The bodies of a man and woman described as a married couple were found inside a home on Stone Creek Trail in the Fredonia community, east of Dunlap, according to a statement issued by Sheriff Bill Phillips. Part of Stone Creek Trail is inside a private, gated residential neighborhood on top of Fredonia Mountain.
Friends of the couple found the bodies around 7 p.m. CDT, Phillips said. Both had sustained apparent gunshot wounds.
“Due to circumstances surrounding the incident, it is suspected the couple’s death is the result of a murder-suicide,” Phillips said in the statement.
