One man is recovering from a gunshot wound and two others remain at large after an altercation at a home in Tracy City, Tenn., on Monday afternoon.
Grundy County authorities say two men showed up at James Cody Hill’s front door at 197 Sims St. and began demanding drugs. The dispute took a violent turn and Hill ended up getting shot in the leg, Tracy City police Chief Charlie Wilder said Tuesday after visiting Hill, who is recovering at home.
Hill told authorities that two unknown men came to his door around 3 p.m. CDT Monday, Wilder said.
“They went into the victim’s house demanding drugs. The victim said he didn’t have any drugs and the suspects then shot him in the leg,” Wilder said. The men took about 100 oxycodone pills from the home, Wilder said.
The bullet – fired by one of the men from a small-caliber, semi-automatic handgun – struck Hill above the knee.
