TechTown, an organization that helps youth pursue learning in science, technology, engineering, arts and math, will move to the Edney building in Chattanooga’s Innovation District.
Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke praised TechTown’s move to the Edney building, which he said will place “our young TechTown learners directly in the heart of Chattanooga’s Innovation District, increasing their creativity, innovation and access to opportunity because we’ve created a space for startups, students and ideas to collide.”
“TechTown will be a valuable addition to the Innovation District and another resource as Chattanooga works to create the pipelines necessary for a talented, curious and skilled workforce,” Berke said.
The organization has also appointed Chris Ramsey as CEO. Ramsey succeeded Cordell Carter, who stepped down to pursue other opportunities.
Ramsey originally joined TechTown in 2016 as a consultant. He was previously the chief strategy officer at Yesmar Strategy and Consulting, and the president of the Southeast Tennessee Health Consortium foundation.
He worked at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee for more than 20 years.
