From the “Talks too much” studios, enjoy the weekend and try to stay dry.

Jay-Sitting in a lobby waiting on a meeting and read the 5 at 10. I was at the university when New Coke was rolled out. I spent a lot of beer money stocking up on the original coke. I ran out before Coke admitted their mistake. No 1 on the Rushmore of bad decisions was mine to run the Country Music Half Marathon this weekend in Nashville. After 12 weeks of training, it’s going to monsoon in Nashville on Saturday. Should I take a rain coat and umbrella?
Sportsfan –
Congrats on getting in good enough shape to run a half marathon. Kudos.
We would suggest a lightweight poncho. Umbrella seems like it would be difficult to manage and if you wear a rain coat some may mistake you for a flasher.
New Coke has become the unofficial symbol of bad ideas which makes it far left of the Rushmore, which would include Dr. Teller’s idea to drop Atomic bombs on Alaska to create new coast lines, Oliver on the “Brady Bunch” and LeBron’s Decision. (At least that’s a starting point.)
Also, when did we officially become Seattle? Man, the rain is coming again Saturday. Somebody ask Noah if he’s building in Hixson or Soddy.

For the bag, what are your thoughts on Rajon Rondo? Would you want him on your team? Do you think he’ll get a max contract from someone this offseason?
Stewwie –
Excellent question.
In this Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014 photo, Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo (9) drives during the second half of an NBA basketball game against the Orlando Magic in Boston. The Celtics traded point guard Rajon Rondo to Dallas on Thursday night, Dec. 18, 2014, cutting ties with the last remnant of Boston’s last NBA championship while giving Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavericks a chance at another title. (AP Photo/Elise Amendola) No one has cost himself more coin this postseason than Rondo, who has become teammate non grata in Dallas because of his inability to get along with Rick Carlisle.
And unlike some previous coach-player feuds, Rondo looks way worse across the league because everyone has a lot of respect for Carlisle. (Side note: If they make a movie about this, Jim Carray has to play Carlisle. If Carray says no, they’d have to scrap the project.)
Rondo had value as a shoot-last point guard with crazy defensive skills and delivered big plays in even bigger moments. That was pushing seven years ago.
Now, as a malcontent who shoots less than 40 percent from outside the paint, he will be lucky to get anything close to a multi-year deal. In fact, other than the Lakers or the Knicks – two teams desperate for talented pieces regardless of fit – who even would take a chance on Rondo.
Crazy to think that five years ago – and that was before the ACL injury to be fair – Rondo was arguably a top-15 talent in the league.

Finally, Mailbag: The draft is coming April 30th, we know this. The official website lists Davis Tull as a possible 3rd round pick and Derrick Lott possibly a 4th round. 1) Do these rounds ever get televised and just ticker-taped at the bottom of a screen? Also, will any of them get airtime with the holding of the pro jersey, shots of fans in the audience representing the Power C, etc. I’m not the kind that is going to sit through hours and hours of useless crap when all I care about is just two players no one else in the country knows about.
JMC –
Third round would be a huge story for Tull, who has tested well during the process, but still has the “small school” stigma to his name and will be faced with learning a new position.
Lott seems like he will be a sixth- or seventh-round guy, but who knows.
That’s the great thing about the draft. If one team likes you, it doesn’t matter what the mocks say about the Mocs.
As for the TV question, the entire draft is televised starting with the first round next Thursday, the second and third rounds on Friday night and rounds four-through-seven on Saturday, which has become arguably the sneakiest busiest May sports day ever with the draft wrapping, the Kentucky Derby and the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight.
Next week will be a busy week with contests, which brings us to

From Will
Didn’t you say you were going to have a draft contest? What’s the deal?
Will –
Yes, we did say we were going to have a draft contest. And we have had a Kentucky Derby contest every year too. This year, they overlap, so there’s that.
Feeling the Draft while drinking a Draught Draft Contest
Who is the Titans first pick? Who is the Falcons first pick? How many SEC players go in Round 1? Where is Todd Gurley picked? Davis Tull goes in which round? Each correct answer is worth one point.
First In/Last In Derby Day
Give us the horse that wins and the horse that finishes last? (And because we are who we are, Last is worth 1.5 points, and the winners is worth 1 point.)

Did I hear on the radio the other day that you watch “Game of Thrones”? Man, that show is awesome.
What’s your fav character on GoT? And have you and David done a TV Rushmore on Press Row.
You guys are great on the radio by the way.
Thanks and keep up the good work.
Tom D. –
Yes, “Game of Thrones” is one of our stories. Love it. And after the Red Wedding, we have refused to pick a favorite character because they will just get killed in the next episode, so there’s that. (If forced to pick, we’d likely go with Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister.)
We have done several TV Rushmores here but not sure what we have done on Press Row?
Who knows what we may get into today from 3-6 on ESPN 105.1 FM. Thanks for listening and for reading.

Bag questions: Will you watch ABC’s Bruce Jenner special and why not? How can they fill two hours with the story?
Chas –
Uh, no on watching the Bruce to Barbera special.
We have no idea how they will be able to fill it, but there will be lots of shots from the Olympics, an entire segment on the Wheaties box, and plenty of Kardashians.
Man, that’s a strange story.
And one we will make sure to skip.

From OG
If Billy D is in the running for the Thunder job, remember he did take the Magic job only to back out…what becomes of the last team to win back to back national championships? Do we worry that McCall leaves Noogaville?
OG –
We think Billy Donovan is the front-runner for the OKC job.
The only way we could see that Donovan leaving Florida would affect Matt McCall’s future in Chattanooga is if Billy D. makes him a Vito Corleone offer he can’t refuse to come to the Thunder.
A few years down the road after getting some experience as a head coach, McCall would surely be a candidate if the Florida gig was open, but not now.
If Billy D wants him in OKC, though, that would be tough to decline.

From Terry
Which quarterback that will be drafted next week has the best chance to win a Super Bowl?
Terry –
Great question and one that is impossible to answer correctly for myriad of factors.
Most notably the team more than the quarterback determines whether a guy even has a chance to win a Super Bowl. Sure the quarterback will become the biggest reason, but there are really on six or eight teams that have a legit chance at the Super Bowl, and none of them are looking for a QB.
Look at it this way, the last No. 1 overall pick quarterback to win a Super Bowl not named Manning was Troy Aikman in 1989.
Even as great as Andrew Luck is and will be, the Colts are multiple steps from being a Super Bowl champ.
If we were forced to pick one, we’d likely go with Jameis Winston. We think he has a personality to be a franchise leader. Or serve time.
So there’s that.
