A Chattanooga man arrested in August 2022 for allegedly selling drugs out of a motel room was arrested again this past week for allegedly selling drugs out of another motel, according to a Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Patrick Lamar Tory Jr., 28, who was out on a $1,000 bond from a 2022 arrest, was arrested by deputies shortly after 11 a.m. May 15 at Studio 6 on Shallowford Road, according to a sworn affidavit from the Sheriff’s Office.

Tory was charged with a range of drug and weapons charges.

Tory is being held at the Silverdale Detention Center on a $250,000 bond, according to court documents, and is due to appear before Hamilton County General Sessions Court Judge Gary Starnes on July 14.

The Sheriff’s Office’s Narcotics and Special Investigations Division is familiar with Tory because there are multiple cases pending against him, the affidavit said.

“Tory was located in room 108 and opened the door for detectives to enter,” the affidavit said. “While searching Mr. Tory Jr., a large amount of cash, later totaled to be $1,490, was located in his front pocket.”

Detectives also located a digital scale covered with a blue powder-like substance they believed to be fentanyl, according to the affidavit.

Officers also found “fentanyl rocks wrapped in aluminum foil weighing approximately 25 grams, a bottle of Super Mannitol and a small piece of aluminum foil with suspected blue fentanyl powder inside, and a Taurus .357 revolver with two live rounds inside the cylinder,” the affidavit said.

Super Mannitol is a diuretic.

On Sept. 5, 2022, the day after making bond on the August arrest, Tory was pulled over at the 7000 block of McCutcheon Road by deputies for alleged improper display of registration.

Tory informed the deputy he had just been released from Silverdale on drug and possession charges. Tory said he did not have a license or any weapons. He told officers they could search his car.

“A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded Glock 22 pistol,” another Sheriff’s Office affidavit said. He was then taken back to Silverdale and was charged with possession of a firearm with a prior violent felony conviction and one count of driving without a license from the Sept. 5 arrest.

He is due to appear before Hamilton County Criminal Court Judge Barry Steelman on those charges May 24.

Tory has several felony convictions on drug-related charges.
