Three charged in connection with nonfatal Ooltewah shooting

Three men face assault charges after a shooting in Ooltewah last week, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

An ongoing dispute between two of the men, Dalton Hardy and Curtis Randolph, apparently turned into a fight on May 27 that started inside the Trading Post store then moved outside, the office said in a news release.

The third man, James Bragg, then joined the dispute and brandished a stick, escalating tensions, according to the release.

Randolph, 41, then shot Bragg in the leg. That was found to be an act of self-defense, based on a review by the Hamilton County District Attorney’s Office.
