A Hixson woman who is accused of fatally shooting her boyfriend had her second-degree murder case bound over Wednesday to a grand jury, according to Hamilton County General Sessions Court.

Alaina Stallings allegedly told Chattanooga police she shot Lataivus Moore on the morning of Sept. 25 in self-defense, an affidavit of complaint said

But police said the facts of the case indicate Stallings, 22, did not shoot and kill Moore, 20, to protect herself, according to the affidavit.

Chattanooga police were dispatched to a Forest Dale Lane home after a report of a person being shot.

Moore was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the lower back, the affidavit said. He was transported to Erlanger hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
