Weekend winners

› Every sports fan with a TV. Seriously, that was some amazing (bleep). And maybe your team lost — it’s OK, and remember I’m an Auburn grad so it happens (a lot) — but man, the weekend’s drama made me remember why I love sports.

› Vandy. OK, this was a major topic at the 5-at-10 compound over the weekend: How can Vandy land Diego Pavia in the portal and AU is still trotting out the artist formerly known as Payton Thorne? Seriously, Vandy’s win was magical, and if you watched as much of that game as I did, the better team won.

› Sam Pittman. In a crazy weekend of extreme college football craziness, I’m not sure anyone needed that kind of win more than Pittman’s crew topping No. 4 Tennessee. That’s a contract extender. And let’s be 100% clear: Vandy and Arky were happy to pay the fines for fans rushing the field.
