Forget Jack Frost nipping at your nose; how about tiny fish nibbling at your toes?
Actually, nibbling might not be the right word, since Garra rufa fish (aka doctor fish) don’t have teeth. But they are adept at scraping off dead skin cells from your feet with their rubbery little mouths.
These boys (yes, they are all males) originate in Turkey and are the main attraction at a new spa in Chattanooga’s Southside neighborhood, located directly across from the Battle Academy magnet school.
Lower your bare feet into one of eight fish tanks at the Garra Spa, and a team of 20 to 30 of these little Garra fish, each about one to three inches long, will converge on your tootsies and go to work exfoliating the skin on your feet and lower legs.
What’s the sensation like?
