More than 50,400 people boarded planes at the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport in March, setting a record for the month.

“Once again, our enplanements for March exceeded our best March ever,” April Cameron, the airport’s president and CEO, told the board Monday. “That trend continued, so we’re going to hold on to that trend as long as we can.”

Through March, the airport has seen about 133,800 boardings in 2025, a nearly 12% increase over the almost 120,000 in 2024.

Cameron also expects the airport’s seat capacity in June will grow by about 35% compared to the prior year as Spirit Airlines begins nonstop flights. The budget airline will offer a one-way introductory fare of $50 for flights from Chattanooga to Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Newark, New Jersey; and Orlando, Florida.
