MEMPHIS — Chet Holmgren scored all but one of his 24 points in the second half, and the Oklahoma City Thunder overcame a 29-point deficit to beat the Memphis Grizzlies 114-108 on Thursday night for a 3-0 lead in their best-of-seven series in the first round of the NBA playoffs.

The Thunder, who are the Western Conference’s No. 1 seed, needed a huge rally to get past the eighth-seeded Grizzlies after dominating the first two games of the series and sweeping four regular-season meetings (each by double digits).

Oklahoma City’s rally came after Memphis star Ja Morant left the game with a hip injury.

Morant was hurt with just more than three minutes left in the first half and Memphis ahead 67-40. The Grizzlies still led by 26 at halftime.

The 29-point comeback was the second-largest in an NBA postseason game since play-by-play data began being recorded in the 1996-97 season.
