Skyuka Hall, a Chattanooga school for students with learning differences, purchased the headquarters of global Bible study ministry Precept for its permanent campus in an $11.75 million sale.
The K-12 independent school will move next fall to the 100,000-square-foot Precept campus, which hosted thousands of people off Shallowford Road by the Chattanooga Airport for conferences across more than half a century.
Precept listed the 36-acre property at 7324 Noah Reid Road for sale in January 2024 as most of its employees work remotely, and it no longer hosts major events. The sale closed Monday.
Teachers and families at Skyuka Hall may feel a sense of déjà vu.
The school purchased a farmhouse on the same street for $4.7 million in 2023 with plans to convert it, but the project never left the rendering stage as costs increased and renovation plans became more complicated, said Head of School Josh Yother.
