NASHVILLE — Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Cam Ward has talked a couple of times about wanting the type of stability for his team that the NFL’s most successful franchises enjoy.
Now the No. 1 pick of this year’s draft finds himself with a new play caller going into his fourth regular-season start.
Luckily for Ward and the Titans, the rookie has spent a lot of time with quarterbacks coach Bo Hardegree, who will be calling the plays into his ear — via the helmet radio — when Tennessee visits the Houston Texans on Sunday in an AFC South Division matchup of teams off to 0-3 starts.
Ward said Hardegree was one of the first he talked with during the process leading up to April’s draft.
“I have a great relationship with him,” Ward said Wednesday. “I meet with him every day. He just knows where my mind is and how I feel space on the field. I just think he’s going to be a good addition for us.”
