A man’s body was pulled from the bottom of the Tennessee River on Friday, police said.

Officials believe the person reported to have jumped from the Market Street Bridge on Thursday is the same person. Police are working with the Hamilton County Medical Examiner’s Office to confirm his identity.

Investigators believe the man’s death was not caused by another person, the Chattanooga Police Department said in a social media post. According to Chattanooga Police Department spokesperson Elisa Myzal, some video evidence was obtained.

Reports of the person jumping from the bridge came in Thursday afternoon. While boats searched the river, rescuers checked with multiple Ironman triathlon swimmers in the river to ensure none of them were the jumper, Chattanooga Police Department Sgt. Michael Joiner said.
