The Vanderbilt Commodores made the most of their senior day last Saturday with a 45-17 thrashing of Kentucky in Nashville.
Tennessee is hoping for a successful home finale of its own this weekend when the No. 18 Volunteers welcome No. 12 Vandy to Neyland Stadium.
“It will be my last time suiting up and playing in Neyland,” sixth-year senior defensive lineman Bryson Eason said earlier this week in a news conference. “I feel like this happened so fast. I genuinely feel like this is my second home.”
The Vols are 8-3 overall this season and 4-3 in Southeastern Conference play, while the Commodores are 9-2 and 5-2, having already clinched their first nine-win regular season as an SEC member. Saturday’s game has a 3:30 p.m. kickoff on ABC.
Like every program in today’s college landscape, senior day can recognize sixth-year players who have represented the same school each autumn, graduate transfers who spent just one season at their current university and plenty of situations in between.
