ICE brings hammer down in Minneapolis

My daughter and her family live in Minneapolis. Here’s what she is seeing:

Troops are abducting children, legal observers and protesters. They randomly throw tear gas grenades, purposefully ram cars and cause car accidents, point guns at people, gleefully applaud violence and tell people they’ll kill them like they did “that lesbian bitch.” They go into neighborhoods, kick in doors without a judicial warrant and ask people if they know any Hmong immigrants or Asians (this happened to a St. Paul city council member). They smash car windows to directly pepper spray the driver, even if children are in the car. Daycare workers are asking if the protocol for eye care for tear gas is the same for infants and toddlers as for adults.

Schools are asking parents to patrol at drop-off and pick-up times because ICE agents have gone in, tackled students and pepper sprayed them.

Protesters have kept level heads and neighbors are showing up for each other, but they feel the federal government has declared their state and city to be enemies and is using illegal means to bring the weight of the federal government down them.
