Weekend winners

Kalen DeBoer. If Alabama fans are still uncertain whether DeBoer is worthy, they need to check that at the locker room. Alabama was down 17-bagel, on the road against an elite defense. The Tide remained calm and handled its business with game-changing plays on defense and special teams to rally for a 34-24 win. No one is ever going to be Saban again. That’s both truth and fact. But Bama backers need to realize DeBoer looks like he knows what the bleep he’s doing.

Christmas-loving people everywhere. Have a blessed Christmas season, friends, and try to practice random acts of kindness. For those you love and for those you don’t even know. And a visor tip to Kristoffer Donev, a 7-tear-old from Ocoee, Tennessee, who won the Lin Parker Design Wrapping Paper contest.

Anthony Joshua. The former Olympic heavyweight beat the schtick out of Jake Paul over the weekend. Each fighter made a reported $93 million for the pay-per-view bout. Only downer for Joshua, who was unstoppable Friday night, was the tax bill from U.S. and Britain to the tune of $66 million. Yikes.
