The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga announced Friday that men’s basketball staff member Scott Greenman, who has been with the program since Dan Earl took over the Mocs in 2022, is leaving the coaching ranks to focus on his family.

Greenman, who was promoted to associate head coach last June after being part of UTC’s run to the National Invitation Tournament title two months earlier, had stops in various roles at his alma mater of Princeton (2007-10), Georgetown (2010-13) and American University (2013-22) prior to his four-year run with the Mocs.

“After 19 years in collegiate coaching, I’ve decided to step away from my role to prioritize my family,” Greenman said in a UTC’s release announcing his departure. “Right now, the demands of the profession have made it increasingly difficult to be present at home, as a father and husband, the way I would like to be. I’m deeply grateful for the last four years at Chattanooga. The community, fans, administration, players, and coaches have made this experience truly special. The journey to an NIT championship, SoCon regular-season title and a school-record 29 wins in 2025 will always be a highlight in my life.

“Thank you to Coach Earl for entrusting me to be a part of this program and helping continue its great tradition. He’s an elite coach, and the program is in great hands. I step away on the best of terms and will forever be a Chattanooga Moc!”
