Ever wonder how sustainable it is for Southeastern Conference schools to keep spending all this money to build football rosters through revenue sharing and through name, image and likeness deals?

Coaches sure are wondering.

“I think we are in a really interesting spot right now,” Texas A&M’s Mike Elko said this week at the league’s spring meetings in Miramar Beach, Florida, “because if we don’t find a way to create some level of regulation within the market, a lot of people are going to go bankrupt really quick. If this thing goes from where we are now to up another 20% to up another — we’re 2 1/2 years away from having an NIL budget that’s more than the TV revenue for all of our university.

“When that happens, you’re going to have some serious questions about how that gets funded.”
