Lovell Field just had its best April ever for passenger boardings.

About 55,700 passengers boarded planes at the Chattanooga Airport last month, surpassing the nearly 48,600 boardings in April 2025.

Delta Air Lines and American Airlines served the largest proportion of those travelers in April, tallying 23,400 and almost 19,000 boardings, respectively. Much of the recent increase, however, came from United Airlines and Allegiant Air, which both posted double-digit percentage increases in boardings in April 2026 compared to April 2025, according to numbers supplied by the airport.

Overall, enplanements are trending higher than they were this time last year. So far, nearly 192,000 people have traveled from the Chattanooga Airport for the first four months of 2026, greater than the roughly 182,400 who boarded planes during the same time period in 2025.
