Can criers over bias afford TFP’s truth?
Letter writers say the TFP is biased. The reporters in the TFP write the facts. They legally have to. Reporting the facts puts articles in context — historically, lawfully and results of similar programs. Who stands to benefit? Who is gaslighting?
Writers to the TFP claiming bias all seem like poor math students in school that are statistically challenged or are selfishly opinionated nonreaders who watch TV or listen to social media constantly. They’re echo chambers. Fact-checking opinions on the Free Press page finds many dangerous falsehoods.
One of the worst falsehoods is, “People want work.” No, people want work at jobs that pay a living wage. If I can’t come to work because I can’t afford to fix my car, medical care or child care, the job doesn’t pay enough.
If you are above functionally illiterate, I invite you to read “Pay the People” by John Driscoll. It statistically explains how income inequality since 1968 for the bottom 50% economically has driven Americans to SNAP and Obamacare and why paying a living wage is good for business and, yes, affordability. Society pays now or pays later.
