Thousands of Chattanoogans lost power Saturday as storms from Hurricane Isaias moved through the region, according to data from EPB.

Around 1:30 p.m., after hours of high wind gusts, more than 1,000 EPB customers were without electricity thanks to around 30 outages around the area, EPB’s data dashboard showed. In the 24 hours prior, crews had restored power to another 7,000 homes across 58 reported outages, according to the dashboard.

Those homes joined more than 800,000 customers without power thanks to Isaias, mostly in Florida, Alabama and Georgia, the Associated Press reported. The storm was downgraded from a hurricane to a post-tropical cyclone after making landfall near Destin, Florida, on Friday while continuing to damage roofs and cause flooding in its path.
