Shavin: My husband at 60 – a lament
My husband turned 60 this past week, which just seems so inconsiderate.

My husband turned 60 this past week, which just seems so inconsiderate.

When I was about 10, I had a friend who was also my enemy.

What makes a house a home? Well, that depends on whom you ask. So we retooled the question and narrowed the scope:

Every morning I find my husband on the sofa in the parlor with the girl dog, drinking coffee and scouring The New York Times.

If you were to pick a dish to make for friends and/or family that best reflected your roots, what would you make?

My husband and I are still getting to know our new home.

For as long as I can remember, I've been obsessed with the idea of having an animal rescue ranch.

My husband and I share a lot of laughs. We laugh about how the dogs talk to me - in his voice, of course - with an air of pretension.

I don't know about you and yours, but me and mine have been feeling a little stressed.

In the mornings, my husband and I sit in the room of our new house we laughingly call "the parlor."
