A summary of evaluations for Schools Superintendent Jim Scales shows his performance to be fairly average, but school system officials refused to release the original documents.
Hamilton County Board of Education members evaluate Scales’ performance annually. After the documents were given to school officials at a board meeting Thursday, the comments were compiled and all board members’ names were removed.
Scales said he still had the original evaluations, but would not give them to the Times Free Press.
“The public is entitled to my evaluation, and that’s what we released,” he said of the typed summary.
