School board chairman and District 2 incumbent Tim Trew announced Monday he was pulling his name off the Whitfield County Board of Education primary ballot for July 20.
“I need to focus more on my family and my professional life,” Mr. Trew states in a letter announcing his withdrawal.
“This is a difficult decision because of my belief in the Whitfield County school system and the life of our community,” he wrote.
He urged remaining board members, candidates and the community to keep working to improve county education.
