Some Hamilton County commissioners say all too often they are get information about schools from the newspaper instead of the schools. Some Board of Education members say they, too, sometimes feel out of the loop. School Superintendent Jim Scales and Director of Communications Danielle Clark said the system does get word to board members when something happens at a school. But Mr. Scales said there is no policy in place to inform county commissioners directly when this happens.
