Have a happy and healthy pup without going broke
If you want to welcome a dog into your home, but are concerned about the expense, don’t worry: You don’t need to go broke to provide a loving home to a dog who needs one.
* Adopt: Why pay designer prices for a pedigree dog? There are lovable dogs waiting for a new home in shelters across the country.
* Food: Instead of busting your budget with expensive dog food, check out no-name brands – just read the ingredients list first.
* Treats: Don’t be a push-over – dogs don’t need treats very often, and they don’t need expensive ones, either.
* Toys: You don’t need to spend much on toys to keep pooch happy and active. A rope with knots on either end is great for gnawing and playing tug-of-war, as are old blankets.
* Grooming: A daily brush will go a long way towards good dog health. A once a day brush session will do the trick.
