The Chattanooga road paving program, which has coasted for years on a $1.5 million budget, finally finds itself flush with cash.
The city’s pavement program now has almost $4 million in its coffers.
“It gives us seed money,” said Eddie Tate, the city’s road pavement manager.
It’s the most money the program has seen in a long time, and the money will be spent, he said.
“We’re going to be doing more lane miles of work,” Tate said.
