CLEVELAND, Tenn.-Hundreds of children, teens and some adults celebrated summer reading here Friday.

They took part in the grand finale of the Cleveland/Bradley County Public Library’s annual summer reading program.

Rebeckah Coleman, library worker and summer reading coordinator this year, said more than 940 children and teens signed up for the summer, more than 700 preschoolers and more than 100 adults.

This was the first year to include adults in a program that began in the 1980s, she said.

“It’s kind of a nice send-off for school,” Coleman said of the party at the library.
