DUNLAP, Tenn. — Sequatchie County Veterans Service officer Charles Tiede says intensive training and more room mean better service for area veterans at the new office now open on Church Street in Dunlap.
Military veterans can find wading through benefits paperwork more than a trying experience, but a little direction and some follow-through can make all the difference, Tiede said.
“I’ve got some veterans coming in from Chattanooga, some from Bledsoe, Marion, Grundy and other surrounding counties,” he said. “It’s a veterans service office for everybody.”
Since moving from cramped, noisy quarters inside the American Legion building, the new office across the street from the Dunlap Police Department has been equipped with a computer, has a larger waiting area and a quiet office in which to discuss benefits, he said.
