EMS Lt. Brian Bricker gives East Ridge High School students a front-line perspective of the dangers of alcohol and drug use.
Following a 24-hour shift, which included responding to an emergency call involving a drug overdose of a young adult, Hamilton County EMS Lt. Brian Bricker volunteered an additional eight hours of his time to speak with East Ridge High School students on alcohol and drug abuse.
Deputy Sheriff Dale Lockhart, school SRO, organized the interactive program attended by more than 200 students. The program deals with the medical, legal, financial and emotional effects of alcohol and drug abuse on the user, on his or her friends and family.
Lt. Bricker has been a Hamilton County paramedic for more than 12 years and has served as Lieutenant "District Supervisor" for 11 years.
