MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. -- Police are investigating the killings of a man and a woman found dead in the parking lot of a Muscle Shoals restaurant.
Muscle Shoals police say the bodies were found early Saturday morning outside Jody's Restaurant on Alabama 20.
Muscle Shoals Police Chief Robert Evans identified the victim as 23-year-old Kayla Ann Glover of Killen; and 25-year-old Gary Wayne Baskins of Florence.
Evans told The TimesDaily that there were people inside the 24-hour restaurant, but no one reported seeing anything.
He said police believe both people were shot while inside a car, and Glover got out and ran before falling in the parking lot.
Investigators say Baskins had been staying at Key West Inn in Tuscumbia for the past few days. Police say the two victims knew each other.
