The Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department battled a mobile home fire this morning near the Georgetown, Tenn., community, according to a Hamilton County Emergency Services news release.
A homeowner called 911 at 8:45 a.m. to report a fire on Anderson Acres Drive.
Since the mobile home was unoccupied, firefighters worked to keep the fire from spreading into the nearby dry terrain.
The homeowner told fire officials he was in the process of tearing down the mobile home and was having difficulties removing the shingles.
The decision was made to burn the shingles off the structure, but the fire got out of control.
