Best food to take backpacking

As the foodie revolution continues to take the nation, it was only a matter of time before elevated food options found their way onto the trail, leaving campers and backpackers to wonder, “What are the best options for fuel?”

So, leave the pork and beans at home. Here are a few of our favorite, most convenient (and delicious!) camp foods.

Good To-Go

Founder Jennifer Scism, a four-star chef in New York City, believes that “gourmet” and “dehydrated” aren’t mutually exclusive. Good To-Go’s meals are among the highest quality available in the outdoors, with real ingredients and spices you probably have in your pantry, and a few you probably don’t. While the menu is limited, the food is good enough that no one would judge you for eating three-bean chili for breakfast.

Breakfast/Dinner/Whenever: Thai curry (with actual cardamom and lemongrass!), smoked three-bean chili or herbed mushroom risotto
